 Summary: We discuss topics related to the physical support of information and overview the properties of classical information then we concentrate on quantum information. The presentation of classical information theory starts with Shannon entropy and Shannon source coding then we discuss mutual and relative entropy, Fano and data processing inequalities and conclude with a presentation of the discrete channels and measures of similarity between two probability distributions including trace distance and fidelity.
